The news is incorrectly reporting that Peculiar west of I 49 is under a boil order/advisory. The City of Peculiar is not under a boil order/advisory. We have found that PWSD 9 out of Harrisonville is currently under a boil advisory, west of I 49 and north to Cowger road and 249th street.

On Wednesday, October 11, 2017 between 9 am and 3 pm, a City contractor will be performing water line tie-ins along 211th and J Highway. This will affect customers along Kendall Rd, Debbie Dr, Cindy Ln and 211th St. There will be a BOIL ADVISORY for 24 hours from 3:00 PM October 11 until 3:00 PM October 12, 2017. Beginning Saturday, September 30th and continuing Sunday October 1st S. School Road from Peculiar Way (211th Street) to J Hwy, the plan is to be asphalt milling the street areas to be patched with asphalt base one lane at a time . If you are unable to transport the limbs and debris from the storm to the City Salt Shed; please put them out to the curb by no later than 7AM, Monday July 31st. Public Works will go around to pick up the storm debris. Citizens who have limbs down due to the storm can take them to the City Salt Shed and drop them off. It is located just north of the Sewer Plant on the South East Outer Road.

In recent years, the City of Peculiar has been studying its sanitary sewer collection system to identify portions of sewer system that may need to be upgraded. A list of proposed capital improvements have been identified that would increase system capacity and prevent sewer backups. The Peculiar Emergency Management Agency will be hosting the annual National Weather Service, “Weather Spotter Training”, March 7, 2017, at 7:00 P.M. at the Peculiar Lions Club Building, 500 Schug Ave. Peculiar, Missouri. The class is taught by meteorologists from The weather service office in Pleasant Hill, Missouri, and should take approximately 2 hours in length.

New Utility Rates Effective for October 1st, 2016 Billing September 19th, 2016 the Board of Aldermen approved the 2016-2017 Operating Budget. the 2016-2017 Operating Budget can be found here. The budget adoption included a $1.50 increase to all water rates per 1000 gallons and a $0.55 increase to all sewer rates per 1000 gallons of usage. Code Red” weather and emergency notifications are being changed in Cass County to “Everbridge”. To be up to date, please sign up for the new notifications by creating an account. Reminder that annual Animal License's need to be renewed. the cost is $5.00 for a sterilized animal and $10.00 for one intact. There is a $5.00 penalty for renewing after January 31st. Renewals are to be made at the Peculiar Police Department.
