Uniformed Patrol is the first to respond on calls for service and must have a vast knowledge of city ordinance, state, civil, and federal law to resolve the problems associated with these calls in a fair and intelligent manner.

Since Patrol Officers are on-duty 24 hours a day, every day of the year, they have a great expectation from the community to be the one resource that is always available to handle nearly any situation that may arise.

Patrol Duties Include:

• Protection of Life and Property
• Preserve the Public Peace
• Crime Prevention
• Enforce laws within jurisdiction
• Arrest violators when applicable
  

Officers make every effort to perform their duties in a competent, courteous and professional manner.  If you wish to commend an officer in the performance of his or her duty, we encourage you to download and fill out a Commend an Officer Form and either email or hand deliver it to the Police Department.
