The 2013 City of Peculiar Animal License tags are available for issue at the PECULIAR POLICE DEPARTMENT

Citizens are required to show proof of a current rabies vaccination for their dogs / cats.

If your Animal has been – Spay/Neutered the Fee is $5.00
If NOT – Spay/Neutered – the Fee is $10.00

Apply for animal licenses at 224 North Main- you must show proof of current rabies inoculation. Licenses are due January 1st and a late fee of $5.00 will apply to licenses paid after January 31st.

Animals that have been picked up by Animal Control will be taken to the Harrisonville Animal Shelter located at 1300 Clearwater Drive in Harrisonville (located behind Cass County Justice Center). They will be kept for 5 days ( 10 days if city licensed). The boarding fee is $50.00 plus $20.00 per day. After the waiting period, the animal will be adopted out or euthanized. Pick up fee must be paid at Peculiar Police Department before the animal will be released to the owner. The animal shelter number is 816-380-8961.
